St. Tammany Fire District 12 To Hold Press Conference Monday

Fire District 12 will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, to unveil newly installed safety equipment designed to enhance the protection of both lives and tax dollars. The press conference will be held at FD12 headquarters, 19375 Hwy. 36, Covington, at the intersection of Hwy. 36 and Hwy. 21.
Devices recently placed in every FD12 vehicle monitor all movement of the trucks, essentially serving as a “black box” for FD12 equipment. The technology has a variety of applications within the fire service professions, which will be explained and demonstrated on Monday.
DVD recordings of data the cameras have already captured will be available for media distribution, and ride-alongs with firefighters can be arranged on-site.
