FD12 Recruit Academy Graduates Its 7th Recruit Class

On Monday evening, April 25, six recruits graduated from FD12’s Recruit Academy in a formal ceremony at Northshore Bible Church in Covington.

Over the 14-week course, the graduates have obtained certifications in CPR, First Aid and the operation of Automated External Defibrillators; Hazardous Material Operations; Hazardous Material Awareness; and Firefighter I and Firefighter II certifications.

“We are very proud of the hard work and dedication these recruits showcased during the academy,” said Dominick Bourgeois, chief of training at FD12. “We are also proud that for the past seven years, we  have continued to offer excellent training opportunities in-house for not only our own recruits, but for other Fire Districts in St. Tammany Parish.”
